100% NATIVE PRODUCTION ECOSYSTEM  |  LYON, FRANCE

Precision at Scale.

Great ideas die in poor execution. We do not outsource our core engineering to third-party assembly houses.

At Ateliertoy, we maintain absolute, uncompromising control over our entire manufacturing ecosystem. By physically blending high-precision subtractive manufacturing (wood) with fully automated electronic assembly (PCBA) within a strict "One-Piece Flow" architecture, we guarantee a zero-defect policy. This is where traditional French craftsmanship meets Industry 4.0 autonomous execution.

Vertical Integration

Native Engineering & Absolute IP Protection.

We are not a brand that simply slaps a logo on white-label hardware. We are a vertically integrated engineering powerhouse. To protect our Intellectual Property (IP), mitigate geopolitical supply chain risks, and ensure uncompromising quality, all critical R&D and component manufacturing is kept rigidly in-house at our Lyon headquarters.

SMT automated PCB assembly – in-house PCBA production Hardware / PCBA

Proprietary PCBA Production.

We design, print, and visually test all Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) internally using advanced SMT lines. This complete independence shields us from global semiconductor bottlenecks and ensures total quality control down to the individual microchip.

Software engineer coding with factory visible through glass Software / IT-OT

Native Software Development.

Our educational SaaS platforms and embedded hardware firmware are coded by our native team of 40+ software engineers. We ensure seamless IT/OT integration, allowing for secure, real-time OTA updates for every robot deployed in the field.

Industrial laser scanning wooden component on conveyor Quality / Traceability

Flawless Quality & Traceability.

Quality is engineered, not inspected. Every single electronic module and wooden chassis receives a unique digital passport upon creation. Using our IRIS operational layer, we guarantee 100% component traceability from the raw oak forest to the classroom desk.

Operational Agility

High-Mix, Low-Volume Agility.

The global educational market is volatile, demanding extreme flexibility. Our assembly lines are deliberately engineered for speed and adaptability, not just brute-force volume. Utilizing strict SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) methodologies and swarms of collaborative robots (Cobots), our technicians can completely retool a hardware assembly line for a different product variant in under 12 minutes.

This unprecedented agility allows us to run highly profitable, short-batch productions without sacrificing our overall OEE. Furthermore, our demand-driven MRP system integrates directly with our vetted Tier-1 local suppliers via a digital control tower, providing massive resilience against global logistics shocks.

Our Facilities

Two Production Fortresses in Lyon.

Each facility was built with a distinct mission. Together, they form an unbreakable, fully integrated, native manufacturing ecosystem.

Heritage Plant – advanced CNC woodworking with AMRs
5-Axis CNC
Tolerance: ±0.05mm
AMR Fleet
42% transport reduction
Industrial IoT Retrofit
Legacy machines connected
Facility 01

The Heritage Plant.

Footprint: 12,000 sqm  |  Core Tech: 5-axis CNC, Industrial IoT Retrofit, Automated Buffering

Our original production facility, completely reimagined. Today, it stands as our global center of excellence for sustainable wood processing. We didn't destroy our heritage; we digitized it. By simulating the entire layout in a virtual environment before execution, we mathematically optimized our material flow, eradicating 80% of internal forklift traffic. We preserved the 70-year-old soul of traditional woodworking, but we now measure, track, and manage it with aerospace-level discipline.

Innovation Campus – open creative studio with engineers and educators collaborating
R&D Lab
Toy Prototyping & STEM Testing
Digital Studio
App & Platform Development
Facility 02

The Innovation Campus.

Footprint: 18,500 sqm (Commissioned 2024)  |  Core Tech: Cobots, AOI, AMRs

A campus built for curiosity. Where engineers, educators, and children work side by side — testing prototypes, coding apps, and playing with tomorrow's toys today. Open studios, collaborative benches, and natural light create an environment where the best ideas emerge from hands-on play. This is where Ateliertoy's physical and digital products are born.

The Blueprint

How did we build this operational empire?

We didn't just buy robots. Throwing automation at a chaotic process only scales the chaos. We completely restructured our decision-making, governance, and data architecture. See the specific technology ecosystem that guided our factory expansion from crisis to scale.
